When I made this soup for my very particular children, they all voted on the rating and I was surprised how high they rated it! This soup will be served frequently in my home!

I used turkey bacon so my daughter who won't eat pork or beef could eat it, she liked it. It was like chopped leather to me. Made it again with real bacon and yum. Third time I used ham, added carrots and broccoli. She can make her own soup, she is thirty! Thanks for the recipe, Kory.

Excellent recipe. I doubled it and added a 1/2 pound of bay scallops. Next time, and there will definately be a next time, i'm going to a milk/cream combination. Thanks for posting this recipe.

I agree with previous ratings. Added the chicken, used cream instead of milk. Served right away - a big hit. Served next day - even better! Very easy too.

I also added a cup of cooked, diced chicken and substituted one cup of regular milk with a can of evaporated milk. Really made it rich and creamy! My family loved it, and I baked mini cornbread muffins to go with it. Great meal! (nstructions called for adding celery and potatoes, however celery was omitted from the ingredient list. I added 1 cup of diced celery, it was fine and you could add more or less to your own taste.)

Forgot to mention in my review.. not only do I not use margorum I use heavy cream instead of milk. It may be rich but I make this for christmas meal. Calories dont count.

just what I was looking for! simple and satisfying! I used a can of creamed corn instead of whole corn. There is a reference to cooking potatos and celery, yet no celery in the ingredient list(I did't add any celery. The celery soup was enough celery for me!)

You can ask my friends, I love to cook. My dad first taught me to cook. Mom didn't enjoy it like he did. I've just taken a month off work and all I've done is read and try new receipes. I live alone and luckily someone is always stopping by and invaribly they end up with a plate of whatever I tried to cook today. I don't have too many falilures.
